What is ERPNext Consulting?

ERPNext is an open-source ERP covering accounting, inventory, manufacturing, CRM, HR and projects, with over a thousand configurable doctypes. SyvaSoft provides ERPNext solution architecture and business design, programme and project management, and test design and management, along with custom app development and ongoing support.

Capabilities

What this practice actually does

Specific work, not a list of buzzwords. Each of these is something we have shipped.

Doctype and workflow design

Custom fields, naming series, workflow states, print formats and permission roles built through the configuration layer, so the site still takes a bench update instead of freezing on a fork.

Custom Frappe app builds

Real gaps delivered as separate Frappe apps — doctypes, server scripts, scheduled jobs, dashboards — installed alongside ERPNext and handed over as source you own outright.

GST, e-invoicing and TDS setup

IRN generation, e-way bills, TDS sections, HSN classification and the GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B working files your accountant reconciles before filing, tested against your own tax templates.

Manufacturing and stock setup

BOMs, routings, work orders, batch and serial tracking, and multi-warehouse valuation configured so the stock ledger and the general ledger agree at every posting.

Tally to ERPNext migration

Ledgers, stock items, opening balances and current-year vouchers pulled out of Tally, loaded through the Data Import Tool, then reconciled trial balance against trial balance.

Bench hosting and upgrades

Frappe bench on Linux with supervisor, Nginx, scheduled backups and monitoring, plus version upgrades rehearsed on a clone of production before they touch the live site.

Why SyvaSoft

What is different about working with us

We argue against customisation

Standard behaviour gets tested before anything is built. Much of the value in month one is talking a team out of custom code they would have paid to maintain for five years.

Open source, nothing withheld

ERPNext carries no per-user or per-module fee, custom apps are delivered as source, and configuration is documented. Nothing in the handover is designed to keep you with us.

300+ customers, 25 states

From Madurai we support 300-plus customers across 25 Indian states and five countries, so multi-state stock transfers, e-way bill edge cases and place-of-supply arguments are familiar ground.

Same team after go-live

The consultant who designed your chart of accounts is the one answering the question about it in month nine. Support is not a separate department here.

The case for ERPNext

ERPNext is the most approachable serious open-source ERP available. A mid-sized business can be running real transactions within weeks rather than months, and business users can configure a lot themselves once they understand the doctype model.

That accessibility is also its trap. Because customisation is easy, teams customise before they understand the standard behaviour, and end up with a system that is hard to upgrade and harder to explain to the next person. Most of the value we add early is saying "not yet" to customisation requests.

Where we help

Business design comes first: chart of accounts, item and warehouse structure, naming series, workflows and permissions. Get those wrong and no amount of later customisation fixes it cleanly.

Then implementation and migration, with UAT run by your team on your data. Then custom Frappe apps only where standard ERPNext genuinely cannot express the requirement.

Integration and Indian compliance

GST e-invoicing, e-way bills, TDS and the reconciliation reports needed for filing all need attention on an Indian ERPNext rollout. So does Tally, if the finance team is not moving wholesale on day one. We treat these as first-class scope rather than as afterthoughts.

Support that does not hold you hostage

Configuration is documented and handed over. Custom apps are delivered as source you own. If you decide to take support in-house or move to another partner, nothing about the system prevents it.

Engagement

How the work runs

  1. 1

    Discovery & fit assessment

    1–2 weeks

Process mapping and an honest assessment of whether ERPNext standard functionality covers you, with a written gap analysis.

  2. 2

    Business design

    1–2 weeks

Chart of accounts, master data structure, workflows, roles and report formats. The decisions that are expensive to change later.

  3. 3

    Configuration

    3–6 weeks

Standard ERPNext configured against the design. Customisation deferred until standard behaviour has been tested.

  4. 4

    Custom development

    2–6 weeks

Only the genuine gaps, built as separate Frappe apps rather than core modifications.

  5. 5

    Migration, UAT & go-live

    2–4 weeks

Data migrated and reconciled, acceptance testing by your team, cutover and on-site go-live support.

  6. 6

    Support

    Ongoing

Retainer support from the team that built your configuration, with documented handover if you take it in-house.

This is a good fit if…

  • You are adopting ERP for the first time and want to be live in weeks, not quarters
  • You want open source but need Indian GST and e-invoicing handled properly
  • You have an ERPNext instance that has been over-customised and needs untangling
  • You want to own your customisations outright rather than rent them

Answers

ERPNext Consulting — questions we get asked

What is ERPNext?

ERPNext is an open-source ERP built on the Frappe framework, covering accounting, inventory, manufacturing, CRM, HR, projects and more in a single codebase. It offers over a thousand configurable doctypes and carries no licence or per-module fee.

How long does an ERPNext implementation take?

A focused single-entity rollout on largely standard functionality typically goes live in six to ten weeks. Adding manufacturing, multi-warehouse operations, significant data migration or custom apps extends that to three to five months. Discovery gives you a dated phased plan.

Should we customise ERPNext or change our process?

Change the process where the standard behaviour is reasonable, and customise where your process is a genuine competitive difference or a statutory requirement. Most teams over-customise early because it is easy. The cost shows up two upgrades later, and a good consultant will push back before that.

Does ERPNext handle Indian GST and e-invoicing?

Yes, with configuration. E-invoice IRN generation, e-way bills, TDS and GSTR data preparation all work, but they need to be set up correctly against your tax templates and item classifications. This is standard scope on every Indian rollout we do.

Do we own the custom apps you build?

Yes. Custom Frappe apps are delivered as source code you own. Configuration is documented. If you move support in-house or to another partner, nothing in the system is designed to prevent it.

Can you fix an ERPNext implementation that has gone wrong?

Yes. We start with a fixed-fee assessment that documents the current configuration and customisations and identifies what is salvageable. You get a straight recommendation, including the option that we are not the right people for it.
