What is SME Finance ERP?

Financial ERP is an accounting and compliance system for businesses running several entities, branches or cost centres on one set of books. It covers general ledger, receivables and payables, fixed assets, budgeting, GST and TDS compliance, and consolidated reporting across entities without manual merging in spreadsheets.

How it works

From the floor to the ledger, without re-keying

Every step writes into the same record, so operations and finance never diverge.

Capabilities

What SME Finance ERP does

The functionality operators use daily, not a feature checklist for a brochure.

Multi-entity consolidation

Several companies on one installation with automatic inter-company elimination and a consolidated group view.

Cost and profit centres

Every posting carries dimensions, so branch, project and product-line reporting comes from the same ledger.

GST and TDS compliance

E-invoicing with IRN, e-way bills, GSTR data preparation, TDS deduction and certificate generation.

Receivables and credit control

Ageing, credit limits enforced at order entry, automated reminders and collection tracking.

Fixed asset register

Asset lifecycle with depreciation under both Companies Act and Income Tax Act schedules.

Approval workflows

Configurable authority limits on payments, purchase orders and journals with a complete audit trail.

When Tally stops being enough

Tally is excellent at what it does. The point at which businesses outgrow it is usually not accounting sophistication — it is structure. Multiple legal entities, inter-company transactions, cost centres that need to roll up differently for management and statutory reporting, approval chains, and users who should see one branch but not another.

Financial ERP handles those structural problems. Every posting carries entity, cost centre and profit centre dimensions, so the same transaction set produces statutory accounts for each company and a management view across all of them.

Compliance inside the ledger, not beside it

GST returns, e-invoicing, TDS deduction and certificates, and e-way bills all derive from the same transactions that produce the financial statements. There is no separate compliance register to reconcile, which is where most mismatch notices originate.

Control that scales past trust

Approval workflows on payments, purchase orders and journal entries, with a full audit trail of who changed what and when. Role-based access means a branch accountant sees their branch, not the group.

Reporting that answers management questions

Standard statutory formats plus configurable management reports: profitability by branch, by product line, by project. Budget versus actual with variance analysis. Cash-flow projection from open receivables and payables.

Answers

SME Finance ERP — frequently asked questions

What is financial ERP software?

Financial ERP software manages accounting for organisations with more than one entity, branch or cost centre. It provides a general ledger, receivables and payables, fixed assets, budgeting and statutory compliance, and produces both per-entity statutory accounts and a consolidated group view from the same transactions.

When should we move from Tally to a financial ERP?

Usually when structure rather than volume becomes the problem: several legal entities that need consolidation, inter-company transactions, approval chains, users who should only see part of the books, or management reporting that requires dimensions Tally cannot carry. If those describe you, the move is worth scoping.

Does it handle GST e-invoicing and e-way bills?

Yes. IRN generation and e-way bills are produced from the source transaction, and GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B data comes from the same ledger. Because nothing is re-keyed into a separate register, the common causes of mismatch notices are removed.

Can it run depreciation under both Companies Act and Income Tax Act?

Yes. The fixed asset register maintains parallel depreciation schedules so statutory accounts and tax computation both come from the same asset records.

Can we migrate our history from Tally?

Yes. Masters, opening balances and transactional history can be migrated and reconciled against your existing books. How far back to bring history is a scoping decision, since deep historical migration adds meaningful effort.
